21 September, London / New York: Babcock DST — a leading provider of critical, complex engineering services — and Hive Learning — the peer learning platform for building business-critical skills at scale — have been shortlisted for the Learning Technologies 2020 ‘Best Use of Social and Collaborative Learning Technologies’ award.
Babcock DST, a technology business at its core, recognised that their team needed fast access to resources and one another’s experiences to rapidly respond to the COVID-19 crisis.
Babcock DST partnered with Hive Learning to create a social and collaborative learning experience in under two weeks that would give their employees the tools to survive and thrive through the crisis and beyond — helping them build resilience, wellbeing and agility.
In 2019, Hive Learning was announced as the Learning Technologies Learning Organisation of the Year from a field of hundreds of the world’s foremost learning technology organisations.
This year, the Learning Technologies Awards saw a record-breaking response to its call for entries, with around 500 entries received.
The Learning Technologies Awards showcases some of the most recognisable, memorable, and life-changing learning technologies worldwide. They are internationally recognised and open to organisations of all sizes. Independently judged by more than 50 digital learning experts to the highest and most rigorous standards, winning one of these awards is a huge honour in the edtech sector.
The winners will be announced on 18 November.
Rich Blackmore, Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Babcock DST said:
“Hive has played a key part in our employee engagement strategy. Feedback from our employee survey showed that we needed to improve communication and engagement with our workforce, and since launch, many of our staff have joined Hive.
“It’s opened up a new two-way collaborative communication channel with our remote workforce and enabled us to share information in ways we haven’t been able to before. A big thanks to the Hive team who have supported us in deploying and growing the system. It is already enabling us to engage with our people better than ever before and we only see engagement growing as more people adopt the system.”
Hive Learning CEO Julia Tierney comments:
“We’re proud to have been shortlisted for this award — it really is great testament to the brilliant and innovative work our clients are doing. At Hive Learning, we believe that lasting behaviour change doesn’t just come from new digital technology, it also comes from the team empowering their people to take action.
“The results that the Babcock team see are a testament to their innovative approaches.
“There’s some tough competition out there this year, but we’re looking forward to seeing what the results hold for us in November. Good luck to all the finalists!”
